Amazing Simple Treat!!!

Oh my gosh, these oreo cake balls are awesome!!! I like Oreo cookies but I'm not a huge fan but man, these are fantastic!!! Give it a whirl!!

You need:
1pkg of Oreos
1 8 oz pkg of cream cheese
1 pkg of almond bark

-Blend oreos whole in blender, you might need to do just a few at a time. You want it powdery, not big chunks.
-Mix cookie crumbs with cream cheese and roll into one inch balls.
-Place in the fridge for 1 hr to set.
-Melt the almond bark and dip the cookie balls in and place on cookie sheet or wax paper.
-Let it set for awhile to let the outside part harden and enjoy!!

It's Cookie Time!!!

Well, the holidays are always something to look forward to. Family, food and fun and for a select group a dorky tradition that was started 12 years ago when a couple of freshman girls burned their first batch of Christmas cookies. I can't say we have improved much, but its always entertaining. Here are a few of the gems that came out of this years party:

These swirl cookies are pretty simple, I'm not one for fancy recipes so here is the edited version:
-Take a ball of cookie dough about the size of your fist and put a few drops of one color of food coloring on it and kneed it in. You may need gloves or baggies so your hands don't get dyed.
-Repeat 3-4 times with different colors.
-Place each layer on top of one another and spread each layer out. Try to make it all into a rectangle shape.
-Roll it up like a wrap.
-Put in the freezer for 45 mins or so.
-Use a knife to cut into small pinwheels.
-Place them on the side to bake.

We make the best of broken cookies, this angry ginger man threw a ninja star and cut the other in half.

Katie, per your request: please respond via cookie!

But See...I'm A Planner

Sooo...everyone who knows me well knows I love to plan things. I love getting things done and marking them off my list. I realize a majority of people aren't like this and it annoys me but at the same time I wish I was as laid back about it as they are. I hate buying gifts last minute, especially if its for a shower or wedding, then everything gets picked over. Boo. The problem with getting things done weeks in advance is then I get bored. For instance, I have a baby shower in 3 weeks that I am going to. Everything I was supposed to do for the shower is done, gifts are bought, everything is together and ready to go so that when the day comes, I won't forget anything. But now I'm like "well...what can I do now?" when frankly, I cannot afford to do anything else lol. I always thought of myself more as Rachel Green but I might be more Monica Gellar.

Boozin Up the Holidays

I want to know your opinion of drinking at family functions on the holidays? I'm not saying lets roll out a keg, but maybe wine? I keep reading all these articles about which wines go with what Thanksgiving foods and so I know some folks out there do it. What's the best way to integrate this without looking like a boozer? I'm not saying people in our family don't drink, I know they do, but what is it about family functions that keep people from doing it?

It's fear of that crazy person/persons isn't it? That one relative that will get drunk and make it all awkward and messy? I actually think it would make things interesting and humorous but...that's me. So...who drinks at family functions?

Pumpkin Cupcakes

So with a little help from the Sprinkles cupcake mix I made pumpkin cupcakes and thought I'd share with you:

Go to Williams Sonoma and buy Sprinkles cupcake mix lol
Read directions
Screw their icing cause I tried everything to make it thick and it didn't work
Buy Betty Crocker cream cheese icing instead
Complete with Sprinkles modern dots

Whoo! Like I said, baby steps!

Non-fertile Mertile

No, we have not boarded the baby train just yet...but I am getting a little worried. I know a surprising number of girls in their 20's who are having serious issues conceiving. Never did I think this was an issue for someone still in their 20's. Some of them just can't get it period and some keep having miscarriages. What's going on? I realize for a 40 yr old woman it may be a little harder than for a 16 yr old (lets be honest). I thought being in your 20's was the prime time! I feel so bad for them watching everyone (seriously everyone) around them get pregnant when they are the ones that wanted it the most.

While browsing through the nutrition section at Barnes & Noble the other night a certain book caught my eye. It was called "What To Expect Before You Are Expecting". Wow, didn't know they had come up with that book too. I guess its good for people like me who want to know everything before hand. I glanced through it. Not quite ready to buy that one yet though. Honestly, the whole pregnancy thing just seems like a pain in the ass. Don't get all nuts parents. I'm sure the juice is worth the squeeze. Just wondering if I'll be squeezing my lemon earlier than planned.
